You enjoy these delicious plums all year long if you preserve them as jam. Then you can eat plums during the long winter months too.
TIP! Your jam will be extra tasty if you stir preserve sugar into the fruit then place it overnight into the fridge.
How to make plum jam
Cut the plums in half, remove stones and skins.
Weigh the clean fruit then weigh the sugar.
Stir the sugar into the fruit, cover with cling film.
Place the fruit overnight in the refrigerator.
Day 2
Place the fruit in a pan and shortly pulse it with a blender.
Place the fruit on low heat, dissolve the sugar, bring to the boil.
Let the jam boil for 1 minute then if neccesary remove foam.
Pour the jam into the sterilized jars and seal them securely.
Place the jars upside down on a wet, clean tea towel for 5 minutes.
Turn the jars back and store them in a cool, dark place. When opened keep jars in the refrigerator.
Really a delicious Autumn jam!
