glue paste
Modpodge and a brush
thin wire
nylon thread
Led lights or tea candles
Making Autumn lanterns are a fun craft with the little ones, but the larger kids often still like it too. Cut autumn leaves, strips or squares of crepe paper in different autumn colors. You can draw Autumn leaves, trace real leaves on paper or download our template, print and cut out the leaves on the page.
Glue paper leaves on the jar, overlapping each other until completely covered.
First spread paste on the jar then press on the leaves.
When the glue is dry paste thin layers Modpodge on your lantern.
Glue a ribbon in a matching colour over the ribbed rim of the jar.
Wrap a piece of wire tightly around the rim of the jar and hook on a smaller piece of wire which you arch. Put in a LED light or a tea candle then hang the lanterns in the window.
It looks very pretty when it gets dark!
