Together with neighbor's boy David we make a castle, because he was presented with Superheroes on his birthday, who really need a castle,  David told me. But he first explains at some lenght to us what fortifications Superheroes need in their castle, because of attacks from the bad guys!

How to make a castle
You have to cut out the castle yourself, your little crafter can stick it together

Turn the box upside down and pull the bottom flaps.

Lay the box folded down flat and cut out the back.

Cut out the back including the upside lid.

Of the remaining flaps cut off half.

Staple the top lids together to give the castle support.

On the mid-front draw a hatch with a ruler, to make a drawbridge.

Make 3 incisions but leave the underside of the hatch attached.

Draw the battlements on black carton using a ruler.

Help! Cutting out battlements is too difficult for little hobbyists.

Spread glue on the battlements but let it dry for a minute.

David neatly sticks the battlemants onto the castle by himself.

Spreading glue on three sides of the box is fun but it's also difficult.

Decorating castlewalls neatly is also difficult but David is good at it!

Find the incisions when the glue is dry and cut the drawbridge open.

Cut a piece of cardboard to fit the bridge and fold it in half.

Draw woodgrain and glue it onto the bridge, closed side up.

Draw loopholes on the black cardstock.

David neatly cuts out all the loopholes.

He sticks them all on the front off the castle.

Prick holes in bridge and castle, stick in a string then tie a knot inside.

So Superheroes can draw the bridge in dangerous situations.

Cover a toilet roll in stone paper.

Roll a cone from roof tile carton and staple it.

Glue the roof on the tower.

Cut a strip of blue paper,  fold it in half.

The castle is ready, but David would like to have the Dutch flag in top, of course he can! Red, white and blue paper and a wooden skewer and  you're done!

Proudly David places the flag on top of the castle, now the work is really done.

Hurray, the Superheroes move into their new home, their home is their castle!
