Today we wanted to make a hip toadstool in psychedelic colors ... but Eef decided otherwise. She immediately calls out that a toadstool does not look like that at all! ;D So a toadstool in the old fashioned, well known way it will be, red with white dots.

Do we need to explain how the toadstool is made?

The soil
Paint a square piece cardboard in Autumn colours, stick on Autumn leaves a.o.

The stem

Glue coloured paper around the roll, cut a pointy collar, glue it around  the stem.

The hat
Trace a saucer on red paper, give a cut to the center. Glue the sides on top of each other.

Glue the hat to the stem, then glue the toadstool to the 'soil'.
You make little toadstools by cutting a holefrom an egg box, paint it and stick on a piece chenille stick.
Stick them in the soil next to the big toadstool.

The fun of making an old fashioned toadstool is in the fact small kids can do everything themselves, they (almost) need no help at all. Eefje decorates the big hat with white dots and then: You can move in, gnomes!
