Today we make a Pietjes treat for a November birthday boy or girl. Sinterklaas visits every child, we make Pietjes in all the different colours. At snazzie everyone joins in!
How to make the Pietjes
Fold a piece of crepe paper in half and twist it around the lollipop stick.
Tape the crepe paper under the head of the lollipop with adhesive tape.
Cut away any excess crepe paper around the lollipop.
Make round mouths with the puncher and the red paper.
Glue with the help of a skewer the mouths and eyes on the heads.
Cut strips of gold and silver paper and squares of crepe paper.
Pleat the crepe paper and glue it onto the gold and silver strips.
Measure the hat to the head and glue the ends together.
Fold the top of the cap inward and fasten it with glue.
Cut a strip of white crepe paper and lace a thread through it.
Pull the thread from both sides toward the center and the paper folds.
Tie the thread firmly and glue the collar around Piet's neck.
Apply a thin line of glue on the non adhesive side below the head of the lollipop.
Glue the cap on Piet's head and stick a feather in it.
Stick the lollipops into the mandarins and Piet is ready.
Now you can dole out the Pietjes at school, Happy Birthday!
