The first picture book about the Flower Fairies by Cicely Mary Barker was published in 1923 and it was an immediate success. Now in 2013 we still see her beautiful prints and her books.
Her fairies are in the stores as dress-up dolls and they are depicted on pottery, notebooks, pencil cases and all kinds of other items. No wonder! The paintings gorgeous, with cute girls and boys in the most beautiful floral dresses and suits.
Next to the images of the flower fairies are sweet verses, in English because unfortunately the book has not been translated into Dutch.
