250g strawberries (frozen)
250g caster sugar
1/2 lemon
500 ml milk
Today we are making strawberry syrup and then use it to make strawberry milk, later in the day. Tomorrow we will bake bunny ears to go with it, then the party will be complete. Which party? Easter of course, it's coming soon now!
How to make strawberry syrup and strawberry milk
Put strawberries and sugar in a saucepan.
Squeeze half a lemon.
Sift the lemon juice into the pan.
Stir it all together and bring it to the boil.
Let the strawberries simmer gently until soft, stirring regularly
Remove the foam with a slotted spoon.
Keep spooning until the liquid is clear.
Pour the mixture into the food processor.
Blend until it is smooth.
Sieve the mixture through cheese cloth.
Pour it into a bottle and let it cool.
Stit 1 tablespoon of syrup into the milk.
Also delicious with your yogurt, pudding or porridge!
