What a lovely new picture book this is: (Als de zon onder gaat en de hamster haar hol verlaat (When the Sun Goes Down and the Hamster Leaves Her Den, sadly only translated into Dutch, so far) by Iris Schürmann-Mock. So funny to read what nocturnal animals - including the hamster - do when children sleep. On each page you find an animal species and in rhyme is described what they are up to in the night, from insects to wolves.
The awesome illustrations are made by Mareike Engelke, on her website you can see that her artwork has a modern, fresh style. The sweet, funny animals in this book are so cute, the mini monsters love them too!
