In Covid-19 times there is not much choice in outings with the kids, almost everything is still closed. But what luck, the shops will open just in the May holidays! That is why we as Rotterdammers have planned a weekend trip to Amsterdam, all in line with the covid-rules, with our masks at hand!
A weekend in Amsterdam naturally includes a visit to Patisserie Holtkamp, which is at the top of snazzie's to-do list! The croquettes and cakes are to die for! Of course we also take some home.
We take a sloop to chug through the canals to get to the center of Amsterdam and the sun is shining. During the short walk to Patisserie Holtkamp we suddenly walk in the pouring rain, but we don't give up. When we arrive at the store, there is a long queue, but the mini-monsters are not discouraged. They wait patiently for our turn. It will be worth the wait!
Our second stop is Van Stapele Koekmakerij, another shop with a special delicacy. Not a croquette this time, but a chocolate biscuit, which some people call the tastiest biscuit in the Netherlands. Don't look for anything else here because this store only sells 1 product, namely the chocolate biscuit.
What a lovely weekend it was, we had a great time! We enjoyed the sailing and walking around in Amsterdam, we had good food and drink.
The weekend has flown by, but back at home we enjoy all the tasty purchases. Tea and cake in the garden and then it will be homework again, because school is starting soon ;))
Have a nice what's left of the May holiday everyone!
