In the autumn magazine of Ekoplaza we found this delicious recipe for an Apple and Pear Galette that we want to share with you. A real October recommendation because apples and pears are at their best now. The Galette also looks spectacular but is actually very easy to make. We started right away and are busy with trying out the recipe for you :))
How to make a Galette with apple and pear
Preheat the oven to 180°C
Roll out the dough and cut it out with a large margin.
Cut the pastry more or less round and poke holes in it.
Pour the orange juice into a large bowl.
Stir in the honey, sugar and flour.
Wash the fruit thoroughly and dry it.
Cut the apple and pear in half, thin slices.
Coat the slices thoroughly in the mixture.
Make a circle of fruit on the puff pastry, leaving a 2cm margin all around, roll the edge inwards and push the Galette into a round shape
Press apple and pear into the bottom, peel side up.
Beat the egg and brush the edge with it.
Bake the Galette for 25-30 minutes unil golden brown.
Allow the Galette to cool on a wire rack.
While the Galette is cooling beat the double cream.
Cut the galette into wedges and serve (just like us) with whipped cream.
Or sprinkle the Galette with fresh thyme, also delicious!
