Even though we won't be reading Cinderella this month, she shouldn't be left out from the Disney princesses that are yet to come. That's why we like to bake her biscuits. They are (of course!) our well-known vanilla biscuitss, the big favorite of the mini-monsters. To bring a little variety, it is the shape of the biscuit and the decoration that changes ;) Today we bake Cinderella Slippers.
How to make Cinderella Slippers
Mix butter and sugar until it is creamy and pale of colour.
Mix 1/3 of the whisked egg into the butter mixture.
Sieve flour and baking powder and mix it in, in parts.
Knead the crumbly dough quickly smooth by hand.
Shape the dough into a ball.
Wrap it in cling film.
Place it in the fridge for at least 1 hour.
Preheat the oven to 170°C
Knead the dough quickly then cut out the slippers.
Place the biscuits on waxed paper on a tray.
Place the biscuits in the fridge for 20 minutes.
Bake the biscuits in 10 - 12 minutes light brown.
Allow the slippers to rest a moment on the tray, then cool.
Paint half the slippers blue then sprinkle with blue sugar.
Cut out the icing, stick it on and sprinkle with glitter.
Stick smarties on the blue slippers, pearls on the light blue.
Now we take out the Royal China and have some tea!
