½ roll puff pastry
100 grams pecorino romano, grated
4 slices of bacon
50 grams of mozzarella, crumbled
some oil, for frying
1 free-range organic egg, beaten
A traditional British savory snack is the Cheese & Bacon Palmier, a tasty savory canape that the mini-monsters - hot or cold - also like to eat. We pack them for a picnic because outside in the sun they taste extra delicious!
How to make Bacon & Cheese Palmiers
Grate and crumble the cheese.
Fry the bacon crispy.
Sprinkle both cheeses on the dough.
Roll it gently into the dough.
Preheat the oven to 200°C / 180°C fan and place parchment paper on the baking tray
Sprinkle crumbled bacon on top of the cheese.
Roll the bacon gently into the cheese.
Roll the dough from below to the middle.
Roll the dough from the top to the middle.
Brush the dough with beaten egg.
Cut the dough in pieces of 2cm thickness.
Place the dough palmiers flat on the baking tray.
Bake the cheese & bacon palmiers for 10 -12 minutes until golden brown and risen
Allow the palmiers to cool on a wire rack.
Tasty with a glass of wine in the garden or at a picnic.
