Hang your holiday treasures in the garden as an eye-catcher, it's beautiful to look at but it also makes music when the wind blows against it.
How to make an eye catcher
Choose pretty unblemished shells in different sizes.
Ask an adult to help you drill holes in them.
We paint the sea shells gold but varied colours look lovely too.
We alternate gold paint with gold glitter paint for the effect in the sun.
Let the gold paint on the shells dry completely.
Thread cotton yarn through the holes in the shells and tie it off.
Saw from a bamboo stick 2 pieces of +/- 15 centimeter.
Bind the sticks crossbred together with a piece of raffia.
Leave some lenght of raffia at the top, to tie a loop.
Tie the shells to the sticks, tie 1 strand in the middle.
Tie threads of different length on the feathers.
Tie the threads with the feathers on the sticks as well but more to the centre.
With a little breeze you hear the tinkling sounds in your garden.
