What do you need?
3 pipe cleaners
1 wooden bead, 37 mm
a piece of blue felt
wool filling
small piece of red, gray, white and pink felt
matching yarns and needle
three small buttons
yellow cotton
wooden clogs or yellow felt
a red and a blue felt-tip pen
We make a traditional farmer from felt and pipe cleaners which looks exactly like Boer Boris (according to our pre-schoolers). They play with it on the tractor because Farmer Boris goes to the Sea. Minimize the pattern if you prefer a smaller farmer.
How to make a farmer Boris
Download, print then cut out the pattern.
Take three 18 cm pipe cleaners.
Twist them like in the photo.
Glue the bead on top.
Pin the pattern parts on the felt.
Cut out the pattern parts.
Place the doll on the felt.
Pin the overall around the body.
Sew it closed all around.
Sew on three buttons.
Roll yellow cotton around your fingers.
Tie off then cut it.
Glue the hair to the head.
Cut the hair as you like.
Lace a thread through the hat.
Pull the thread tight then tie off.
Stick the hat on the head.
Draw a face on the head.
Stuff the body through the neck on front and back with filling and tie on the red scarf.
Cut then sew the hands.
Sew socks of white felt.
Fill then glue them on the doll.
Stick the feet into the clumps.
The big farmer is 18 cm and the small one is 9 cm tall.
