225g soft butter
225g fine sugar
1½ free-range organic egg (room temperature)
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
375g (Zeeland) flour
1 teaspoon of baking powder
fondant icing, in various colours
icing sugar, to sprinkle
a little water and a brush
On a quiet Sunday afternoon at home, we have plenty of time for this fun biscuits job. We make farm animal biscuits and stick them on a base biscuit so that the animals can stand up. It will be a fun surprise for the mini-monsters!
We bake the cookies in stages but no pictures of the dough making this time, we rather show you how to cut out the fondant and how to make the base biscuits. The recipe is for our familiar vanilla biscuits, you find the recipe on the PDF. as always.
How to make the farm animal stand up biscuits
Make the dough from the recipe and place baking paper on a baking tray
Take the dough from the fridge.
Roll it to 1 cm thickness.
Cut out the farm biscuits.
Place the biscuits on the baking tray.
Preheat the oven to 180°C
Place the biscuits 10 minutes in the fridge.
Transfer to the oven, bake them for 10 to 12 minutes.
Let the biscuits cool completely on a wire rack.
Stick on all the fondant icing using a drop of water, because of the sugar on your workspace it will stick perfectly
For the sheep roll and cut out wite fondant icing.
Roll heads and legs from black then cut out.
Stick heads and legs on, using a drop of water.
We make pigs and piglets pink.
Make eyes using a skewer.
Cut off the feet of the ducklings.
Cut out orange beaks and feet.
Stick the feet and beaks on the biscuits.
Cut out the whole rooster.
Cut out the tail 2 times, the chest 1 time.
Make combe, beak, wattle and feet red.
Cut the horse shapes out of light brown.
Use white to cut out the mane and tail.
Use brown and white for the goats as well.
The bunnies will be white, with black and brown spots.
How to make the base biscuits
Cut out small and larger dough circles.
Press in holes using the cookie cutters.
Bake the biscuits in 10 minutes light brown.
Allow the base biscuits to cool completely.
Cut out circles, stick them on and rub them.
Cut out whole tractors, stick them on.
Cut out a window, pipe and big wheels.
Give the wheels profile using a wooden skewer and cut out wheel caps with a piping tip
Stick it all on the tractors.
Cut out the windmills, without blades.
Cut out blades, without the mills.
Stick the blades, circles and doors on the mills.
Stick all the animal biscuits on their base and they can stand.
