Buddy Oliver (son of) has a new cooking show on BBC Food website called Cooking Buddies. In each episode he makes a dish, together with his faithful dog Conkers and in every episode a new friend. So far they have made Buddy's Burger, Spicy Tomato Pasta, Keepy Uppy Pizza and Taye Fried Chicken.
Buddy has been cooking on TV (and also on YouTube) since 2020, when he was only 9 years old. There are a lot of videos of him online. Now Buddy's first cookbook has been published and it is also called Cooking Buddies. Buddy says: "my dad taught me everything" and we believe him. The PR machine is running at break neck speed. Today we pass on Buddy's recipe for his burger :))
How to make Buddy's Burger
Season with salt and pepper, if you use organic lentiles with no salt.
Pulse the meat smooth and remove it from the food processor.
Divid ethe mixture into 4 parts.and shape into patties.
Brush the burgers on both sides with olive oil.
Fry for 4-5 minutes and flip the burgers.
Flry for 4-5 minutes and place cheese on top.
We fry some onion rings at the same time until they are glassy
While the burgers fry you swiftly make some preparations
Chop the cabbage finely and toss with vinegar.
Slice the cucumber and shred the lettuce.
Bake the rolls like the package says.
Let rhe hamburger buns cool on a wire rack
Pour a little water into the skillet, the steam will help the cheese to melt
When the cheese has melted the burgers and onion rings are done.
Cut open the buns and put on ketchup and mayonnaise.
Place the burgers on the buns and lettuce an cucumber as well.
Place whatever you like on your burger.
Finally cover your burger with the other half of the bun.
Buddy's Burger looks very yummie. Enjoy!
