The first edition of Children of the Forest by Elsa Beskow was originally published in 1915. Today, her ppicture books are still read all over the world and with as much pleasure as in 1915. That's not so surprising when you think about it. Children will always be children and so they find talking animals and gnome children very normal. They're just beautiful fairy tales and they always want to hear those.
We love to read these picture books to our young monsters because they are so beautiful! When you see these gnome children interacting with the animals, you would almost wish that they really existed.
