Today we read Christmas in Noisy Village, a beautiful picture book by Astrid Lindgren. The story is about the children who live happily in Noisy Village, in Sweden. Noisy Village consists of three adjacent farms, where a total of seven children live. They are always together and make a lot of noise. That's why the people in the village call it Noisy Village.
In today's book about Noisy Village it has snowed, it's the most wonderful time of the year, Christmas. The children do just like we do at Christmas time, baking cookies and decorating the Christmas tree (only they cut it down themselves!). The children also sled a lot, because lot's and lot's of snow falls in Sweden, in winter.
The seven children of Noisy Village are like one big family, they do everything together. How fun is that? Playing together, doing chores and having so much fun. The brilliant retro illustrations by Swedish artist Ilon Wikland give the Noisy Village book series by Astrid Lindgren so much charm.
For us, Ilon Wikland is one of the best illustrators of children's books. The fun and cozyness radiates from her pages. After so many years this series is still very popular worldwide and here at snazzie too!
3+ bright dazzling stars for Christmas in Noisy Village, from our little listeners and their readers!
