Shopping list
½ roll ready made puff pastry
1 big or 2 small apples
50g raisins
2 tablespoons soft brown sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
½ free range organic egg, lightly beaten
2 tablespoons sugar
optional: some finely chopped pecan nuts
Soak the raisins 10 minutes in hot water.
Drain the raisins really well.
Meanwhile cut the apples into small cubes.
Add the raisins to the apple cubes.
Chop the pecan nuts finely and stir in.
Stir in sugar and cinnamon too.
Cut circles with a ribbed edge out of puff pastry.
Preheat the oven to 200°C
Put a full tablespoon filling on the cirles.
Seal the dumplings closed with egg wash.
Brush with egg then sprinkle with sugar.
Bake the dumplings in ± 15 minutes light golden brown.
