This weekend we are taking our little monsters to see De Grote Schijn in the Kralingse Bos. They have grown a bit older now, so it is more fun to go with them now, we think. When we arrive we zee there are several people with toddlers and children in strollers but we chose to wait until our monsters are big enough to better understand what they see. But the Grote Schijn walk starts, so off we go!
The little monsters do like to take pictures and luckily that distracts them from the music ;)) They want to show grandpa and grandma how beautiful the illuminated forest was. Walking around in the dark forest at night is a great adventure for them.
The walk has just started and it lasts an hour and a half which is a long time, so we hope for the best. After this point it actually only got more magical, as you can see in the video, Taking picures was totally forgotten, we were amazed.
But after an hour of walking the little monsters had enough, they were tired and they wanted to go home. Unfortunately, the mapped out walk cannot be interrupted in between, so they had to keep going for another half hour and that was not easy.
So afterwards we didn't have time for a cup of coffee, but we would have liked to. There were more children who also found it too much, but it was not boring, the walk was just too long. An hour and a half of walking might be a bit too much for younger children. Our youngest monster fell asleep as soon as he got in the car. :))
But the illuminated forest was magical and very beautiful, we all agreed on that!
