Every year in April, Dutch librarians choose the Picture Book of the Year for the following year. For 2017 the beautiful picture book The Storm Whale by British author/illustrator Benji Davies was chosen.

The winning book will be promoted during The National Reading Days from January 25 up to and including February 4. Then, especially for the National Reading Days, a mini edition of the picture book of the year will be published. It will be for sale in every bookstore in the Netherlands for €7.50, until it's sold out.

 
 
 
The book is already on our bookshelf so meanwhile we have read The Storm Whale to our young listeners many, many times. They love to look extensively at the fun pictures as well.
 
This is a picture book that you should not miss, it is a pleasure to read with the kids. Fortunately for the kids, from today they will do this for 10 days in almost every school in the Netherlands!
