First we make the cute Origami Snail that we came across on the internet. The snail fits our letter cards perfectly, but this is really a craft for the middle mini monsters (7 to 10). The dragonfly becomes 1 for the youngest mini-monsters, fun to paint a clothes peg and then stick :)) Then we make a mosquito with the slightly bigger ones, so everyone makes something! Watch the video at the top right to see how you make the snail
How to make a Dragonfly
The mini-monsters choose metallic paint, it shines beautifully!
Paint the clothespin and let it dry thoroughly.
Paint a second color and let the paint dry again.
Cut wings out of the plastic cheese tray.
Stick the wings between the clothes pin.
Allow the glue to dry a moment.
The dragonfly is ready, are we going to make a mosquito too? Yes, right? So fun!
You don't need much, just a small cutter.
Fold three pipecleaners in half, that will be the legs.
Fold another pipe cleaner in half and twist the top into an 'eye'.
Slide the 3 folded legs between the two straight parts.
Wind 1 of the protruding pieces of pipe cleaner back around, to be the 'body', then you also attach the legs
Stick half a pipe cleaner straight ahead through the 'eye' and twist it tight
Stick a whole pipe cleaner side ways through the 'eye'.
Roll the pipe cleaner sticking to the sides around a pencil.
Put them up as in the picture and cut the muzzle to size.
Stick wobbly eyes on the eye sockets.
Bend 1 white pipe cleaner into 2 wings.
Twist the wings on the body, behind the head.
Bend the legs and cut off what is to long.
You can stick the mosquito on a letter card, or not.
Fortunately, our funny mosquito does not sting!
The last three insects are ready. The mini-monsters know even more to make, like a stick insect, a wasp, a bumblebee or a centipede. But for now it's enough! The bulletin board is completely full, so let's learn the letters first :))
