a string of solar lanterns
pieces of felt
scissors
hobby glue
watercolour paints and brushes
stick-on googly eyes
We transform a string of little white lanterns into fun Halloween lights. They look great in the house but also outside, you only have to charge the solar cells on the lights in the sun first, then they can light up happily in the evening. The little monsters helped a lot, they really like the lights!
How to make the Halloween lights
Everything can be found in the box, including the instructions.
Place the box with solar cells in the sunlight to load up.
Put the lanterns together with the light holders.
First make all 18 lanterns ready to use.
Firstly make 6 ghosts
Cut eyes and mouths out of black felt.
Stick eyes and mouths on the lanterns.
Let the glue dry completely.
While the glue dries you make 6 pumpkins
Paint the lanterns orange.
Let the paint dry completely.
Cut eyes and mouths, stick them on.
Allow the glue to dry again.
Turn the remaining 6 lanterns into bats
Paint the lanterns black.
Stick on felt ears, googly eyes and draw the mouth.
Cut out and stick on felt wings and teeth.
Press 12 lights into the dried lanterns already, keep skipping one.
When al are ready we hang the Halloween lights outside, in the bushes.
Now we wait, until it gets dark. Happy Halloween!
