What do you need?
white eggs (preferably free range)
1 red cabbage
1200 ml water
4 tablespoons vinegar
edible gold paint
paintbrush or old toothbrush
flexible twigs (like acacia)
Painting eggs with natural colouring is easy, we showed it before. Today we use a red cabbage to get this special green colour. It will look beautiful on the Easter table!
How to paint the eggs
Boil the eggs until hard, in 10 minutes.
Chop the red cabbage roughly.
Boil the cabbage for 45 minutes in water.
'Scare' the eggs in a bowl cold water.
Drain the cabbage but collect the water.
Allow the water to cool completely.
Stir in vinegar, lower the eggs in it.
To get the green colour from light to dark tones you remove a few of eggs from the paint every hour
Splatter gold on the eggs by rubbing your thumb over the brush.
Allow the paint to dry then speckle the other side.
We do not mind if here and there some spatters appear between the spotting, it happens. We love gold anyway and the eggs look exciting, according to the mini monsters, besides they have a lot of fun speckling!
We wish you in advance a Happy Easter!
