What do you need?
old fashioned wooden clothes pegs
acrylic paint in various colours and paint brushes
felt tip pens, black and red
black and red card stock
hobby glue
acrylic paint, gold
gold (wire) thread and gold paper
pink tulle
thin wire and cutting pliers
Wooden Christmas tree hangers are a nice craft to make with the mini-monsters. Now that we have just read The Nutcracker the choice is not difficult: we make a Nutcracker and a Sugar Plum Fairy ;)
How to make the dolls
Paint white tights and a pink ballet tutu on the Sugar Plum Fairy.
Paint white pants on the Nutcracker and allow it to dry well.
Paint black boots and a red coat on the Nutcracker.
Cut arms from ice sticks with cutting pliers.
Paint the arms red, let them dry.
Cut the hair then glue it on.
Draw cute faces on the dolls.
Cut and glue a hat for the Nutcracker.
Lace a skirt of tulle then sew it on.
Form wings, attach them to the Fairy's back.
Stick the arms on the dolls.
Stick the hat on the Nutcracker's head, allow the glue to dry well.
Twist the Fairy's hair in a bun and glue it on her head.
Decorate the dolls with gold thread, gold paper or gold paint.
Attach a ribbon to the dolls then hang them on the tree.
