On this cold February day we read a beautiful, large-format picture book to the little monsters: The Penguin who was Cold. The book is written and brilliantly illustrated (in graphic style) by the Italian (Tokyo-based) author/illustrator Philip Giardano.
It is a sweet story about a little penguin who is always cold while all his friends are not bothered by anything. They slide into the ice-cold water and happily play with each other and catch fish. We all can relate to the cold, this morning no one here felt like going through the cold to school ;))
The little penguin first experiences quite an adventure before he understands he is not the only one who is different from the others. And lwe are glad everything works out just fine for our little penguin friend. Highly recommended!
