Because all schools closed their doors on Monday March 16, we had to think of something to amuse th mini-monsters very quickly. However, we are all happy and relieved that the use of public transport with / for children is no longer necessary and that the house arrest made the chance of infection much smaller for all kids. But after the first euphoria, the children miss their friends and boredom quickly strikes. No movie theater no weekend outings, no sports clubs or playground but luckily we can play a lot outdoors with the scooter or on roller blades. Of course we also do our online homework, but there is still a lot of time left to fill.
That's why we're holding a Harry Potter Reading Marathon. The books were read and listened to breathlessly the first time, but that has been a while. So we quickly started with reading part 1, Harry Potter and the Philosophor's Stone to the mini-monsters and extra attractive, we make several Harry Potter snacks with the kids to eat during our reading sessions. Each time we make a surprise treat to go with our tea. Reading after online class revives old times, just like in the past at school. When we also looked forward to the teacher picking up the reading book after the lesson ended. Let's see how far we get until April 6 but when the books are all read we still have the movies to look forward to ;))
Today we will be making Ollivander's Magic Wands
This is how you melt white chocolate au bain marie
White chocolate melts more difficult than milk- or dark chocolate, because it is actually not chocolate but a cocoa product.
Bring a layer of water to the boil in a pan with a fireproof dish on it (the water should not touch the dish!) then turn off the gas.
Place the chocolate in the bowl and add the cream. When the chocolate has almost melted, quickly stir it and start processing it right away!
Melt the pieces of chocolate au bain marie.
Stir the cream into the chocolate.
Dip the top of the Twizzlers into the chocolate.
Scatter sprinkles over the wet chocolate.
Sprinkle the chocolate on the magic wand optional also with the edible golden glitter.
Slide a skewer into the magic wands and allow the chocolate to set.
And then: Expecto Patronum, the reading marathon starts!
