4 apples
1 eetlepel lemon juice
125g soft butter
140g golden caster sugar
3 free range eggs (room temperature)
225g plain flour
a dash of salt
1 sachet baking powder, 11g
75 ml milk
1½ tbspoon demerara sugar
1½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
Weigh and measure ingredients precisely.
Mix the butter and the sugar pale and fluffy.
Add the eggs one by one.
Whisk the mixture airy and smooth.
Sieve the flour, salt and baking powder.
Fold the flour quickly into the mix.
Andd the milk slowly and stir it in.
Preheat the oven to 170 ° C.
Grease the baking mold.
Transfer the batter to the mold.
Peel, core and slice the apples.
Place the apples on the batter.
Mix the demerara sugar with the cinnamon and sprinkle it over the apples.
Bake the cake golden brown in 40 minutes.
Leave the apfelkuche to cool on a rack.
Place a large plate on the cake and flip it.
Place a serving platter on the cake bottom and flip it again.
