What do you need?
300 bicarbonate of soda
various colours of food colouring
60ml water (20ml per colour)
little toy dinosaurs
some dish washing liquid
some vinegar
a small spray bottle
These Cool dino eggs can be made at home very easily. The baking soda is not really cheap but the kids experience so much fun. It takes some getting used to, such a first week back to school. So something nice after school is extra fun. The eggs are also a great success at a birthday party (outside)!
How to make Hatching Dino eggs
Weigh the bicarbonate of soda, measure the water.
Divide the soda over three bowls, of a 100g each.
Add 6 - 8 drops of food colouring to the bicarbonate of soda.
Stir in the drops of food colouring together with some.water,
Add the remaining water in a trickle while you are kneading.
Knead firmly with your hands.
Until you have 3 even colours.
Take a piece of 1 colour.
Press the dinosaur in and cover it with the other colours.
Press it like a snowball.
Rub it gently smoother.
Place the eggs on waxed paper.
Then on a plate in the freezer.
Let the eggs spend the night in the freezer.
Place the eggs in a dish with dish washing soap (less than this).
Spray on vinegar until the eggs are hatching.
Hurray! The dinosaur babies are born!
