a glass jar
orange glass paint (or red + yellow)
paint brush
Download the Halloween images
scissors and nail scissors
cutting mat and exact knife
modpodge and brush
tea light
The mini monsters found this lantern with the PDF templates included online, we are happy to pass on these fun patterns. But... to make such a fun Halloween lantern you have to love cutting. Otherwise, ask an adult to cut for you.
There is still plenty for you to do, such as painting the glass jar, colouring the cutted edges black and making the eyes and such orange. So with this craft, collaboration is very useful! Our orange glass paint is finished so we mix it!
Here's how you make the Halloween lantern
Print the template.
Mix red and yellow glass paint.
Paint the jar on the inside.
Allow the paint to dry well.
Do you prefer the paint to be more even? Then give the glass 1 or 2 more coats of paint
Cut out the print(s).
Cut the little parts with little scissors.
Colour the cutting edges black.
Colour the eyes orange.
Cut out the small parts, moon, witch etc.
Do we choose the Haunted House?
No, we choose the Pumpkin Tree!
Brush the tree generously with Modpodge then stick it around the jar
Let the modpodge dry a moment.
Then brush the other side with modpodge.
Also use it on the bottom to stick.
The Modpodge disappears by itself.
Stick a black ribbon on the top of the jar.
Put a tea light in your lantern.
