Today we make Dinosaur eggs in a sort of nest. Later on we make a landscape as well to place the dinosaur mama and papa in, with space for the eggs too ;)
How to make the Dinosaur eggs
Break the eggs and wash the scales, fry the contents for lunch.
Let the egg shells dry on a piece of cardboard.
Colour them with nail polish, we used a crackling type,
Let the nail polish dry and paint the scales again.
While the paint dries you start on the 'nest'
Das clay is self hardening, so don't bake it, just let it dry overnight.
Knead the clay really well then roll it into a ball.
Flatten the clay with the bottom of your flat hand, make 3 wells with your thumb.
Mix three colours paint and add a little black and green.
Paint the caly piece, add some extra colour to your taste.
Rub the paint over the clay piece with a paper kitchen towel.
Let the paint dry thoroughly.
Squeeze some glue onto the clay and strike it out with paper.
Sprinkle a little sand on the glue and tap the excess off.
Paint the inside of the egg scales with glow in the dark paint.
Make with a thin brush thick, vertical stripes for a pretty effect.
Bit tricky to photograph in the dark, but you see the idea.
Stick the egg shells in the wells and place the dino's into the shells.
Done! Now you have to wait until dark, then your dinosaur eggs look really cool!
