The money pouch was popular in Ancient Rome. How well stocked it was, of course, depended on the owner. We make it for a role playing game, but your dad might like to get one too. Coincidentally, there is seam leather left from a skirt that is too long, which is perfect for this. Imitation leather is also possible, that sews easier anyway!
How to make an 'Antique' money pouch
Trace the pattern on the leather.
Cut out the pattern.
Cut one more.
Put the parts on top of each other.
Hold both parts together and prick holes in both at the same time
String a thread through the holes.
At the end you lace back again.
Tie off the treads when the stiches connect.
Turn the pouch inside out.
Prick 4 holes on top.
Widen the holes using scissors.
String the lace through the holes.
Tie the ends of the lace on both sides.
All done! Happy Fathers Day!
