2 – 3 bananas
75g Tony's milk chocolate
coloured sprinkles
1 small tub of ice cream
125 ml double cream
1 tablespoon sugar
some chocolate shavings
A mini Banana Split is a tasty treat for our youngest mini monsters. It has fruit, banana, chocolate, ice cream and whipped cream and to top it off ;)) coloured sprinkles, all in mini quantity of course. A New Years Eve recipe, or save it for later, for Carnival. Success is guaranteed!
How to make the Mini Banana Splits
Bring a pan of water to the boil.
Peel and cut the bananas.
Make wells in the bananas.
Brush lemon juice on the bananas and put them in the freezer for a while, that will work easier later
Melt the chocolate au bain marie.
Put cream and sugar into a bowl.
Whip the cream until stiff.
Put it in the fridge for now.
Take the bananas out of the fridge
Dip the bananas into the chocolate.
Dip the chocolate into the sprinkles.
Put the bananas in the fridge for 5 minutes.
For the chocolate to set
Spoon the cream into a piping bag.
Spoon ice cream into the banana wells.
Pipe a rosette of cream on the ice cream.
Sprinkle some chocolate shavings on the banana splits.
We have warm tea with the cold banana splits, yummie!
