Because it is spring, we are making a merry Bee Mobile. We have spotted the first (real) bees of the year in the garden already! It is a fun job to do with the kids, but the sawing must be done by an adult. The mini monsters can glue, sew and assemble the bees and the mobile by themselves!
How you make a Bee Mobile
First we make 5 bees
Stick pieces of black cotton around the pompoms.
Stick the wobbly eyes on the bees.
Stick the push in eyes in the bees too.
Punch out paper circles using a hole puncher.
Stick the paper circles on the bees to look like wings
Roll strands of carded wool between thumb and index finger
Tie the wooden bead on the yellow cotton thread.
Stick the thread through the mini-flower pot.
Spread glue on the flower pot.
Stick the wool on the glue.
Totally covering the flower pot.
Stick on a bee.
The bees and the bee hive are already done, now you make the mobile
Mark the stick twice, on 20 cm.
Saw off the two sticks.
Smoothen the ends with sandpaper.
Cross the sticks in front of you.
Wrap and tie binding cotton around the sticks.
Tie the bee hive thread around it too.
Stick the yarn through the bees, tie a loop at the end.
Stick small beads on the ends of the mobile.
Slide the loops on the sticks, behind the beads.
The bees buzz cozily around the hive already!
Happy Spring!
