125g butter (room temperature)
125g caster sugar
1 free range organic egg (S)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
250 gram (Zeeland) flour
½ teaspoon baking powder
icing sugar
fondant icing in various colours
The solstice has passed and today we celebrate Saint John's Day at school. We're baking a wreath of flower cookies because summer is coming! These little cookies disappear quickly into all those greedy little mouths, so we bake a lot of them!
How to make a flower wreath of biscuits
Make our well-known recipe for vanilla cookie dough, download the recipe
Knead the dough briefly.
Roll the dough to 1 cm thickness.
Cut out the flowers.
Place on waxed paper on the tray.
Cover the biscuits and place them for 30 minutes in the fridge
Preheat the oven to 170°C
Bake the biscuits for 8-10 minutes.
Let the biscuits cool on a wire rack.
Dust your workspace with icing sugar and roll the icing thinly.
Cut out flowers and hearts and stick on the fondant with some water.
Cut fout or colour and decoration some green fondant leaves.
Place the flower biscuits on a serving platter.
Serve the biscuits with some tea.
