This year's lantern for Saint Martin's Day could only have one theme and that theme is Dragons. Dragons with a capital because they've been playing a leading role here, all year long. Many dragons have been built from Lego, with and without the help of the accompanying booklets. The magical creatures are loved here.
Dragons are almost always present in the computer games that the mini-monsters play. They appear in Minecraft, in The End lives the great black Ender Dragon. They also appear regularly in Zelda. Both are favorite games of our little monsters. That's why it was quickly decided and Dragons it was!
How to make a Dragon lantern
Start with making the bottom of the lantern
Trace a plate of Ø cm on cardboard.
Cut out the cardboard neatly.
Trace the same plate twice on craft cardbord.
Cut out the cardboard circles.
Glue the circles on both sides.
Let the glue dry comepletely.
Print and cut out dragons from internet.
Trace the dragons on craft cardboard and cut out.
Cut off a piece of craft cardboard xx by xxcm.
Trace the cardboard dragons.
The next step must be done by an adult, the blade we use to cut is very sharp and not suitable for children!
First we cut out a head.
The complete dragon in the middle.
Then the second head.
Spread glue around the cutouts.
Spread glue around the outer edge of the kite paper as well
Press the kite paper onto the cardboard.
Let the glue dry completely.
Stick the cardboard around the thick bottom.
Do not use a glue stick for this, but a glue gun
Stick a bended paperclip into a bamboo cane.
Thread a string through your lantern and it's ready!
Put in battery-operated lights (LED lights) so you can safely walk along in the lantern parade
We wish you a magical night!
