The Godfather Sandwich has been a household name in America for many years now, especially in New York. The sandwiches are topped with anything that tastes a bit like Italy and that varies from Deli to Deli. Today we dress up the Semolina bread rolls that we baked yesterday, they can be stored very well.
How to make a Godfather sandwich
Preheat the oven to 200°C, cut the rolls in half and drizzle extra virgin olive oil on the top half
Grate the pecorino romano.
Sprinkle the pecorino on the top halves.
Bake the rolls until the edges colour.
Rub garlic on the bottom halves.
Place arugula leaves and Prosciutto di Parma on the rolls.
Place the Spianata Romana (salami) and Provolone on top.
Then onion rings, tomatoes and roasted pepper strips.
Finally, sprinkle with finely chopped, fresh flat-leaf parsley.
Place the top half on your roll and your Godfather Sandwich is ready!
Enjoy!
