For a while now we have been following a few very good fellow crafters online. One of them, Ashley Hacksaw, came across small, unprocessed wooden houses in a department store in America. She came up with the idea to turn it into a creepy village for Halloween and she painted the houses. Which we loved immediately
We have been sawing and painting for some time now - at the request of a mini-monster with a train track - to make houses to put along side the rails. Just finished woodworking for this we came across the village of this colleague and is that fun? The little houses for Puk are all ready but they have to make way on snazzie for this Creepy Village, after all it is October.
No idea of our own this time on snazzie but this village is so cute, we gladly pass it on to you!
Saw off cubess mm.
Saw off as many pieces as you would like to make houses of.
Mark the middle of the wood then saw off the sides slanting.
Sand all the wooden houses real smooth on all sides.
Choose fun Halloween colours of paint.
Paint the houses, let them dry inbetween.
Paint a 2nd colour when the first has dried.
When the houses are painted all around let the paint dry thoroughly overnight.
Tape off then colour the rooftops on both sides, let dry.
Draw windows, doors and various spooky details on the houses.
Fill in the drawings with paint, let the paint dry again.
Brush some varnish on the paint then let it dry well.
Stick warning signs on some of the houses if you like.
Is it a Creepy Village? We think so!
On Tuesday October 6th we show you how to make the Pumpkin Patch for the village.
