packet of filo dough
50g unsalted butter
2 soft pears or a can of pears (230g)
100g blue Stilton
pecan nuts
Recipe: The Great British Chefs
On the first day of the New Year these lovely blue cheese and pear canapés are quickly made. With a only a few ingredients you still can make an impressive snack. We made 6 big New Year's canapes but with the same ingredients you can make 20 mini bites.
How to make the canapés
Because the fresh pears - which we prefer - are too hard, we use canned pears as in The British Chefs recipe. Drain the canned pears then chop them in cubes.
Melt the butter.
Cut the dough in squares.
Grease a muffin tin.
Preheat the oven to 180°C
Brush butter on the dough.
Press 3 dough pieces into each hole.
Fill the cases with cubed pear.
Crumble the cheese on it.
Press a pecan in each canape
Bake the canapés in +/- 10 minutes golden brown.
Happy New Year!
