Today we make a polar bear from felt, to put on our winter table. We sew it by hand, using the lockstitch. Only the eyes get a tiny drop of glue. If you use beads you can sew them on the bear. First download the pattern and cut it out, now you are ready to go!
How to make a Polar Bear
Pin the pattern on the felt.
Cut out the pattern parts.
Pin the top of the insert.
Stitch the top together.
Now you have to pay attention, this is an accurate job!
Pin the insert into the two polar bear pieces.
Pin the in- and outside leg together.
Stitch it, flip the bear over and repeat.
Stitch the underside closed.
Stich the back until the filling gap.
Pin the head insert and stitch it.
Stitch the head and the chest.
The whole bear is closed except for the soles and gap.
Stuff the bear firmly, press in the filling with a pencil.
Stitch the fill opening and sew the soles on the feet.
Sew the ears and the nose on the polar bear
Prick holes and stick in the eyes.
