A Polar Bear made of felt

to put on the winter table

What do you need?
a piece of white wool felt
a small piece of black wool felt
matching thread and needles
wool filling
2 black plastic eyes or beads
hobby glue (for the eyes)
scissors
a pencil (for filling)
lancing device

Today we make a polar bear from felt, to put on our winter table. We sew it by hand, using the lockstitch. Only the eyes get a tiny drop of glue. If you use beads you can sew them on the bear. First download the pattern and cut it out, now you are ready to go!

How to make a Polar Bear

Pin the pattern on the felt.

Cut out the pattern parts.

Pin the top of the insert.

Stitch the top together.

Now you have to pay attention, this is an accurate job!

Pin the insert into the two polar bear pieces.

Pin the in- and outside leg together.

Stitch it, flip the bear over and repeat.

Stitch the underside closed.

Stich the back until the filling gap.

Pin the head insert and stitch it.

Stitch the head and the chest.

The whole bear is closed except for the soles and gap.

Stuff the bear firmly, press in the filling with a pencil.

Stitch the fill opening and sew the soles on the feet.

Sew the ears and the nose on the polar bear

Prick holes and stick in the eyes.

Now find a nice spot for the polar bear!
