A British tradition for Christmas is the stringing of garlands, to hang in the Christmas tree or to decorate the mantelpiece with, for example. You can hang it wherever you like or you can place it on the Christmas table. It looks beautiful everywhere you put it, it is quickly made and it is a very cozy job to do together with the kids.
How to make a British Christmas garland
Cut leaves from your garden or beside the road, ivy or laurel.
Make popcorn in the micro wave as indicated on the package.
Cut the scatheless -big and small - ivy leaves from the stems.
Lace the leaves, popcorn and berries on a long string.
Tie loops or knots at the ends of the garland.
For now we hang the garland because tomorrow we give it as a gift!
