+/- 12 sprigs of lavender, with flowers
3-4 sprigs of lavender, without flowers
a pair of scissors
a large wooden bead
dark blue wool
hobby glue
acrylic paint pens
On the American blog one inch world we saw this sweet doll, made of real lavender twigs. Lavender also grows in our garden and it is beautiful now, in the summer. But to make such a sweet doll has not occurred to us, sometimes you need inspiration from others. Sometimes you see something that you just love and really want to make. This doll is one of those.
How to make lavender doll
First we pick lavender twigs in the garden.
Remove the leaves from the stems.
Wind the wool around your hand.
Insert a stem through the wool.
Fold the stem in half, insert it into the bead and pull it through until the wool is stuck
Apply a line of glue.
Cut the hair open.
Press the hairs 1 by 1 in the glue.
Set the head aside for now
Wind a thread around the stems and tie it off.
Fold 3 stems in half en put the bunch in between,
*Place the head on top and wind a body of wool.
Let the short thread hang freely, you will need it later.
- Wind the thread of the ball of wool crosswise, from the left shoulder to the right armpit and vice versa
- Wind the yarn around the neck about 3 times, to get firmness.
- Also wind the yarn firmly around the waist and knot the threads tightly on the back
Cut off the too long stems on the back of the doll.
Draw a simple face on the doll or leave it empty.
Happy Summer!
