Today we are making something really fun for our young Minecraft fans, a full size diamond sword! That sword is very special in the game, that's what the mini-monsters are looking for. It will be a fun surprise for them, to play with outside during the summer vacation. We have made a template for you that you can download and print. First we cut out all the parts and then glued them exactly together. We think that works best.
How to make a diamond sword
Take a large cardboard box, size moving box.
Flatten the box and cut off excess cardboard.
Cut out the downloaded parts neatly.
Tape the separate parts together, very precisely.
Place the template on a large piece of cardboard.
Cleanly cut out the two swords.
They look like Minecraft swords already.
Save the cut off pieces of cardboard, you'll still need them very much!
Before sticking the sword together, we draw the hilt.
Later we draw blocks on the sword blade.
Brush contact glue on both swords.
Press them firmly together and let the glue dry.
These are the Sostrene Grene paint colours used.
Paint the base colour on the blade and let it dry.
Repeat the painting and the drying of the sword on both sides.
Trace the drawn blocks on the hilt of the sword with a marker and complete as you see in the drawing at the top right
Draw the blocs on the blade.
Use the black marker here again.
Paint the blocks black all around.
Let the paint dry well.
Paint the hilt of the sword the same way.
Allow the paint to dry well again.
Trace with marker blocks on the blade.
Neatly fill in the blocs with the turquoise paint.
When the paint is dry, the Diamond Sword is ready!
If your mini-monster wants to fight with the diamond sword it is not strong enough, then cut out 4 swords and glue them together!
