fresh flowers
adhesive cover plastic
an empty kitchen towel roll
a sheet of coloured paper
a stapler
a pipe cleaner (chenille)
a black marker
a pink colouring pencil
The little ones picked flowers, with very short stems :) We are going to make a pretty butterfly with the flowers, a surprise for them when they come from school.
How to make the Butterfly
First look for two larger plates, in successive sizes and then two small plates, also in successive sizes
Draw a big butterfly on the cardboard or print and tape our PDF.
Cut the butterfly out then draw circles on it's wings
Cut the circles out of the butterfly's wings.
Trace the big and the small plates each two times.
First we cut out two smallest of the small and 2 smallest of the large circles.
Peel off the paper and place it with the sticky side upwards.
Lay the plastic flat and press the matching wing opening on it.
Rub around it and do the same with the other wing openings.
Press the flowers into the sticky circles.
Pull the paper from the final four circles and stick it on.
The wings are ready now we make the body
Roll the tube in the paper and fold the ends in.
Stick the feelers inside the head side of the butterfly.
Attach the wings to the body of butterfly, using the stapler.
Draw and colour a face on the butterfly.
It's so colourful, we give it a nice spot on the window!
