Fretsawing is so much fun, we so much like to do it. When you are done you have made a cute mushroom house with two mushroom gnomes, who can live together in the house. The good thing is, it's not difficult to make at all. Kids from the age of about 10 years old can already do it, with supervision of course! If you have never worked with a fretsaw before, a tip: first watch the video at the top right, then how to fretsaw is immediately really clear! Wishing you lots of fun!
How to make a mushroom house with 2 residents
Saw off 2 blocks of -- x -- cm
Trace the pattern on the multiplex.
Cut the pattern out using a fretsaw.
Sand the wood and the edges nice and smooth.
Draw a door on the stem, a little bigger than the doll.
Saw out the door then sand door and doorway.
Check the wood again, is all nice and smooth?
Dust the wood then paint the cap red.
Cut out the base for the toadstool as well then make sure all the sawdust is cleared away before you start painting
Paint the stem, door and dolls white.
Paint the underside brown, with watercolour.
Paint black on top of the dry, brown paint.
Paint the heads a little grubby.
Paint on red caps, with white dots.
Paint the blocks white too.
Paint cute faces on the dolls.
Trace circles on the toadstool's cap using a pencil.
Paint the dots on the toadstool white, paint a doorknob.
Paint the base mixed coloured, allow to dry well.
Screw the hinge on the door and stick on a doorknob.
Stick the blocks on the back of the toadstool.
Stick the cap of the toadstool on the stem.
Stick the toadstool on the base.
Put on glue clamps and allow the glue to dry completely!
The Toadstool Cottage is ready, now all we have to do is make it Christmassy ;)) Merry Christmas to you all!
