Sinterklaas will arrive in the Netherlands on this Saturday. We make little Pieten, acrobats, who will soon bring the Sinterklaas atmosphere into the room. You have to like cutting and pasting a lot, because that's what it takes to make them. But if you're lucky, you'll get help from little hands and that makes a huge difference!
Here is how you make acrobatic Pietjes
First a tip: we save all cardboard cut offs which are left when crafting, neatly in a binder. The often come in handy, like now!
Choose all kinds of fun colours.
Punch out circles.
Punch out skin colours.
And colours for clothes.
Stick Pietjes together like this.
Find matching colours for sleeves.
Trace the upper arms.
Trace the lower arms too, on matching colours cardboard.
Later on we stick the arms on the Pietjes like this.
First cut out all the arms, then later on you can glue in one go.
Trace the legs in the same way and cut them out too.
All the legs will be traditional black, nice and warm in November, black tights!
All Piet's will happily wear black tights.
Stick on arms and legs, in various poses.
Cut out the 2 part of the Piets barets.
Stick the barets on the Pietjes.
Trace the shoes and cut out.
Stick the shoes on the legs.
Make hands in the same way.
Cut the sleeves off straight and stick the hands to the underside
Draw happy faces on the Pietjes, or not ;))
Now all the Petes can brighten up the room together!
Happy Sinterklaas arrival!
