The Pokémon characters are very popular with the mini-monsters, one has Bulbasaur as favorite, the other one loves Pikachu. They collect the cards, play the games and read the books. We clay the Pokémon figures ourselves, in mini format and finally we paint a wooden box. Then the Pokémon can be neatly stored in it :)) Today we will make the first Pokémon and that is Squirtle.
How to make Squirtle
Knead blue clay until soft and roll a small ball.
Or you can roll the clay, in stead of kneading it.
Roll a minimally larger ball of light brown clay.
Knead beige from white with a tiny piece of brown.
Roll beige into a ball.
Flatten it, using your thumb.
Gently push the beige cap on the brown ball.
Make a pattern in it.
Knead a small piece of white.
Roll it into a thin snake.
Wrap the snake around the beige tummy.
Press a pattern in the brown shell.
Roll 2 balls and 2 drops.
Press on the head and the paws.
Press 2 eyes and a mouth in the head.
Paint it all brown, using a marker.
Roll tiny pink cheeks.
Preheat the oven to 120°C
Bake Squirtle for 10 - 15 minutes.
Allow Squirtle to cool completely.
Brush with a little varnish.
Allow the varnish to dry well, preferably a few hours.
Now your Squirtle is ready!
Next week we make Bulbasaur!
