100g marzipan
1 roll puff pastry
optional ice cream or double cream
The Tarte Tatin is a well known French upside down apple pie. We made this pie before with pears, but today we use plums instead. The recipe is from The Hairy Bikers. We immediately liked to make it, although they also put in marzipan, which we rather left out.
How to make a plum Tarte Tatin with or without marzipan
Halve and de stone the plums.
Greade the baking tin.
Sprinkle the sugar in the tin.
Place the halved plums on top.
Preheat the oven to 220°C / 200°C (Fan)
Place the plums cut side down in the tin.
Cut out a dough circle with a margin.
Place the dough on top of the plums.
Tuck the dough in all around and under the plums
Cut a steam cross in the center of the dough circle.
Place the tarte in the middle of the oven.
Bake it in 25-30 minutes crispy and golden.
Place a platter on top of the tin and flip it over.
Hot!!! Allow the tarte to cool slightly then serve it straight after.
Serve the Plum Tarte Tatin with ice cream or whipped cream, your choice.
Happy Autumn!
