We make our first book for a 3 year old boy who loves Peppa Pig a lot. It is a big job, we do not deny it, but if you persevere you have made something good! You can make the book very beautiful and very extensive but there are also people who put it together with a glue gun, which is a lot easier. So it is your choice.
We go for very pretty, extensive and durable, so sewing it is ... we've placed the figures in a PDF for you. We start with Peppa's family: Daddy & Mummy Pig; Peppa; George; Grandpa and Grandma Pig; Teddy (Peppa's toy bear) and Mr. Dinosaur (George's stuffed dinosaur).
Cut out the patterns you want to use from the PDF.
Pin them on the right colour felt and cut them out.
Sew the heads in the blanket stitch then fill them.
Close the opening for filling with the blanket stitch.
Cut out the arms then sew the legs and feet closed.
Place the filling between the body halves, pin on the arms and legs too.
Sew the body closed, fastening the arms and legs at the same time.
Finish Mummy Pig, Peppa and George in the same way.
Cut out the dinosaur, cut the spikes with pinking shears.
Sew the spikes on Mr Dinosaur's back on one half.
Sew the two dinosaur halves together.
Fill the body up and stick in the hind paws.
Close the body then sew on paws and teeth.
Make Teddy in the same way.
Sew on noses, eyes, tails, colour cheeks, embroider mouths.
Embroider a moustache & beard and glasses on Daddy.
Now we make Grandma and Grandpa Pig with their hats.
Leave the underside of the hats open so they can go on or off.
The Pig Family is finished, next week we continue by making the pages from the Quiet Book
