Today we are going to the Trompenburg Gardens & Arboretum to participate in the annual treasure hunt with our holiday passport. We participate with great pleasure every year, but this time the treasure hunt is really interesting and fun!
We are going to look for the animal houses in the gardens and we are also looking to see if we happen to encounter the residents of these houses. We are excited and are going to start right away!
We look for honey bees and bumblebees, for butterflies and woodpeckers, for two forest owls and with a magnifying glass for insects. With all the beautiful summer flowers, like the Astilbe and Hosta we encounter here, the bee can't be far away. The bumblebee also loves the summer flowers. That seems like a nice quick score, and yes! We have found them both quickly!
We are even told to look for gnomes, who are believed to live here too. That seems very unlikely to us, but we will look for them because we are searching anyway.
Not a gnome in sight yet but there high in a tree we do see a beautiful butterfly! And a little further there is another one! Let's check our map. But then, maybe you don't believe it, but what turns out? Those gnomes really live here! :))
The weather is beautiful, nice and warm and the sun is shining happily, The flowers here are so amazing, you can hardly believe your eyes. Walking through the extensive gardens at your leisure, looking for the assignments. is so much fun! The little monsters enjoy themselves so much in this garden.
The diversity of trees, plants, flowers and animals in the heart of a big city is very special and educational for children, but also for their parents. And there are unexpected surprises. Over a mysterious path you may arrive at little waters, which you can jump over.
Moreover, the coffee, tea and cake here are really delicious and the organic fruit popsicles disappear very quickly as well. All in all, we had a wonderful day close to home, with happy, cheerful children. Playing outside with the youth holiday passport, what more do you want?
And on our way to the exit ... we see another little gnome! :))
